Bristol Estate Agents & Lettings

The city of Bristol is also a county within South West England. This modern and creative area is one of the UK’s most popular tourist destinations and won ‘best city in Britain to live in’ for 2014 and 2017. The student population in Bristol means a thriving rental market and a frequently replenished number of tenants for landlords looking to lease property here. The University of Bristol is regarded for research and teaching, easily attracting professionals away from London. This area has more private schools than any other outside of London, but you’ll find some of the best state schools here too.

What is it like to live in Bristol?

Bristol's economy focuses on creative media, electronics and aerospace industries and the city-centre docks have been redeveloped as centres of heritage and culture. The city has two universities, the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England which attracts plenty of students as well as faculty. Bristol also has plenty of arts and sport facilities including the Royal West of England Academy, the Arnolfini, Spike Island, Ashton Gate and the Memorial Stadium.

Living in Bristol allows you to easily reach London and other major UK cities by road and rail with the M5 and M4 and Bristol Parkway mainline rail stations. However, beyond the Clifton Suspension Bridge (an interesting piece of local architecture alone), you will find the best of Bristol’s green spaces. The woodland nature reserve of Leigh Woods meets the estate of Ashton Court. You can walk, bike or even ride horses here. Each summer, this area also hosts the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta when the skies above the city are filled with colourful balloons and visitors from around the country come to watch.

Bristol’s property hotspots

Bristol is split into various districts, all with something different to offer a person looking to move there. Closest to the bridge and frequently considered one of the prettiest villages, Clifton attracts families and those looking for an area with independent shops and access to green space.

For the classic views of colourful Victorian and Edwardian houses, Totterdown and Temple Meads is where you need to be, with the station and university both nearby.

Families flock to Redland and Cotham as this is where some of the best state schools are, not to mention larger properties and a cheaper equivalent to greener Leigh Woods.
