Westcliff-on-Sea is a suburb within Southend-on-Sea, a popular seaside resort in south-east Essex. Located by the coast and pier, it is home to the Cliffs Pavilion Theatre and boasts great nightlife and tourist attractions.
Westcliff and Southend are being discovered by Londoners looking for more space and better value-for-money. The town’s various train stations offer services into London Fenchurch Street and Liverpool Street, while the A127 and A13 lead straight to the M25.
The seafront is undergoing a £50 million seafront regeneration scheme which will include a new cinema, restaurants, a hotel and leisure centre. A tree-lined artificial swimming lagoon is also planned.
The area has its own train station and schools and is close to London Southend Airport, and the University of Essex’s Southend campus. Westcliff-on-Sea can be accessed via the M25 and is only an hour away from London via train.
Discover some of the new restaurants that are opening up around town, or browse the many antiques shops and boutiques in nearby Leigh-on-Sea. If you prefer more vigorous walking, there are miles of trails along the coast.
