Littleover

 Littleover is a popular suburb of Derby about 3 miles Southwest of the city.  Littleover has a great local community atmosphere with a wide demographic of ages welcoming old and young people and an array of cultures. 

Littleover has seen some developments which include new housing and services within Heatherton Village and many new shops and services within Littleover itself.

In terms of housing there are a wide range of options from cottages to traditional houses and brand new developments such as Heatherton Village.

Amenities/Things to do

There is an array of shops along Burton Road which acts as the main shopping area in the village with The White Swan public house nearby which retains the look of an 18th century pub and can even date back to the late 16th century which is a popular one with the locals.  St Peter’s church is also at the heart of Littleover and sits grandly but quietly in spacious grounds.  There are local parks around Littleover with Clemson’s Park, Sunningdale Park and Normanton Park within close reach. 

Schools

There are a range of schools locally with Ridgeway Infant school rated ‘good’ and Derby Moor Academy and Littleover Community school both rated outstanding for secondary schooling.  There are also private options with Derby High School which also has a Primary school. 

Commuting 

Littleover is a great location looking to buy or rent if you are looking for the convenience of commuting with access to the A38 and A50 as well as Derby Central Railway Station for access to London and other rail connections.

First time buyer/renter

Good commuting with access to some major road links and also a well-regarded suburb of Derby.

Growing Family

The good schools in the area. There are options of private and public schooling with the public schools being well regarded also. Also the recreational facilities within a short distance.

Downsizer 

Not too far from the countryside for nice long walks. Good local pubs and recreational facilities like Mickleover Golf Course.

Investor

As this is a well regarded area it is likely that the area would provide decent capital growth and high demand for tenants also.  According to Rightmove data on the 22/10/2019 house prices in the past year in Littleover were 7% higher than the year before and 9% higher than 2016.
